Abdirahman Edle, PhD
Abdirahman Edle Ali is a doctoral candidate at the University of Nairobi’s Institute of Development Studies and the University of Copenhagen’s Department of Food and Resource Economics. With a strong background as a development practitioner, he specializes in participatory community development. His research focuses on migration, humanitarianism, and diaspora engagements, with recent publications in Security Dialogue (2022) and the Journal of Refugee Studies (2023). In addition to his doctoral work, Abdirahman has extensive experience as a research consultant, collaborating with academic institutions such as Durham University, Wasafiri Consulting, the Rift Valley Institute, the Peace Research Institute Oslo, the Life & Peace Institute, SWISS Peace, and the Clingendael Institute. He is also a co-founder of 3D Research Limited, contributing to policy-relevant research in development studies.
